Kenneth Acha

f1Dr. Kenneth Acha, MD, DMin, DAAFP

Dr. Acha is a senior faculty member in the Department of Disciplemaking and Spiritual Formation and the Department of Orphans and Vulnerable Children(OVC). Dr. Acha has taught at SU since its founding in 2012 as the Missionary Training College.

He was born and raised in Cameroon, West Africa, where he grew up as an OVC after his father died. After migrating to the U.S. and training as a medical doctor, Dr. Acha was called to serve as a full-time missionary from 2010 to 2015.

In 2005, Dr. Acha founded the Kenneth Acha Foundation, an orphan care and leadership development organization that has helped thousands of people in Cameroon and led hundreds of them to Christ. He is an avid student and teacher of disciplemaking, spiritual formation, poverty alleviation, and many other topics.

Dr. Acha did his undergraduate education at Rice University in Houston, Texas, medical training at Texas A&M College of Medicine in College Station, Texas, and a Family Medicine Residency at the University of California at Riverside(UCR). Dr. Acha also holds a Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Formation and a Master of Arts degree in Evangelism and Church Planting from Liberty University.

Dr. Acha currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine at the UCR School of Medicine, where he teaches medical students and residents and treats patients. He is the Author of Christian Meditation: Returning to Biblical Medication, the Key to Fruitfulness in the Christian Life. He has written book chapters for medical textbooks and blogs regularly on leadership, calling-driven work, and similar topics on his website, KennethAcha.Com. Dr. Acha is also the author of TimeofCare.com, a medical website used by about one hundred thousand medical students, residents, and doctors each month to assist with their patient care.

Dr. Acha, his wife Ellen, and their three boys currently live in California.
