How to Write a Newsletter

    When writing a separate letter asking for funds is it appropriate to include it or send it with the newsletter or would it be best to send them at different times?

      I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer for this. Personally, I think asking for financial support when you send out newsletters is a great idea. To collect donations, one of the most powerful tools you have is your success. Donors want to know how their money will help. For example, asking people to donate money to sponsor 5 children in India isn’t enough. You have to show them how the money already supporting children in India is making a difference. After telling great success stories about your cause, include a call to action that asks for donors to support the campaign.
      While the point of the newsletter is to inform, not solicit, it can contain several calls to action that would include financial support.
